Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have mutually parted ways after a two-year relationship. A close source informed that they had ‘grown apart’ in their relationship but it was not a bitter split. This was followed by the singer and the model unfollowing each other on their social media accounts and posting about their break up on tuesday.
The news may be as the biggest break up in social-media history, if you ask your teenagers.”ZiGi,” as the couple’s 66 million Instagram followers and 35 million Twitter followers affectionately call them, asked for privacy in their statements announcing their split.
The 25year old singer announced the news on his social media page with a post saying, “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and i have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend. She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time; we wish this news could have from us first. we love you all” wrote Zayn.

Gigi added, “Break Up statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.. not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that i have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be”

This was surely the most civil way to do it.
Although this is not the first high-profile breakup for either star. Hadid split from singer Joe Jonas in 2015, and the same year, Malik split from Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. (Nothing like ending a headline-making relationship by quickly starting another one.)
