Martijn Gerard Garritsen better known as Martin Garrix by his fans, recently revealed that his most awaited track “HAPPY” is landing this week.
Martin Garrix shared the details of his brand new track, ‘Happy’, that is set to drop on Fiday i.e February 9th. The track will be released under his AREA21 alias, a name reserved for his collaborative work with Detroit-based singer/rapper, Maejor.
Maejor is an American record producer, singer, rapper and songwriter. Maejor has written and produced songs for several prominent artists in the music industry, including Big Time Rush, Justin Beiber, Trey songz, Keri Hilsom, Cody simpson, Elle varner, Chrisette Michelle, T-pain, Ne-Yo, Wiz Khalifa , Tiesto,Three 6 Mafia,Iggy Azalea,Drake and is also a part of the EDM duo AREA21 alongside Dutch DJ Martin Garrix
The Dutch superstar released another track as AREA21 back in December, tittled ‘Glad you came’ received a great response and love from his fans all across the globe. “Glad You Came” presents itself as an energetic future bass track with a heavy hip-hop vocal influence. This round, Area 21 hit the target again: making another interesting future bass tune. The splendid vocoded vocal (which has considerably good lyrics) gives a catchy touch to “Glad You Came”, but the real dominance here is from the electric lead.
Today though we focus on AREA21 and a long-awaited single from the duo: ‘Happy’. The track is outstanding as expected. Martin and Maejor hit this one square on the head in terms of production. We cannot say that we are surprised because ‘AREA21’ so far has been massively successful, and with a release like this – the future is bright for the side project in coming 2018.
This new track will kick-off what’s already fixed to be a massive year for the 21 year-old, who will be bringing his STMPD RCRDS stage back to Tomorrowland this July for the second year running. Given that the festival sold out in under an hour over the past weekend, it feels safe to say that it will be quite the spectacle. A documentary, What We Started, which centres on the careers of Garrix and Carl Cox in telling the story of dance music’s ever-changing culture will debut in March and will be available on Netflix from June.
