Superstar DJ/producer Diplo has already been quite active in 2018, having already released two singles in February and March, and looks like he isn’t looking to stop, with the release of his upcoming EP, ‘California‘, on 23rd March.
During an interview with iHeartRadio, The US DJ-turned-pop star said, “I’m just always working the studio. I did a lot of rap music this last year. I did a record from Lil Yachty that came out. I’m just always working on songs and there are just records that they kind of didn’t fit on their album, so just had to put them out myself.”
The Major Lazer co-founder took to his social media channels to reveal the tracklist of the EP, while also revealing the collaborators, which includes the likes of Desiigner, MØ, Lil Xan, Lil Yachty and many more. The record will feature 6 tracks, and his latest body of work will see him further foray into the world of hip hop. Although this track is not quite as pop friendly as that previous drop with Lil Yachty and Santigold. In this track, Diplo’s tropical instrumental provides a lush backdrop for Desiigner’s surprisingly restrained singing voice. Now, with his California EP on deck, a new single has surfaced in select international markets. This latest drop finds the Mississippi DJ teaming up with GOOD Music’s Desiigner for “Suicidal.”
